SPACE BRANDING, COMMERCIAL INTERIOR DESIGN

Studio Pivot designed Brew33, a hybrid café-bar at DoubleTree by Hilton Tokyo Ariake — a hospitality interior blending Singapore-led branding with Japanese spatial sensibility.

A Comfortable, Unpretentious Space for Lighthearted Connection

Brew33 sits within DoubleTree by Hilton Tokyo Ariake — a hybrid café-bar conceived around comfortable, unpretentious, thoughtful experiences. The brand celebrates cozy aromas, local craft beer, cookies, and coffee, encouraging guests to unwind, mingle, and enjoy lighthearted conversations.

When Pivot came on board, our task was not just to decorate the space, but to translate Brew33’s brand personality into a tangible, atmospheric experience that would greet every traveller walking through the hotel doors. We did this through wall graphics and typography well adapted with a local Japanese twist to suit the environment.

Curating the Mood for the Lobby

We curated and sourced soft furnishings, books, and objects that captured Brew33’s spirit — tactile, grounded, and quietly joyful.

  • Books and magazines on craft coffee, beer, and cookie culture became conversation starters and visual cues.
  • Potted greens and fresh foliage added warmth and a sense of living texture to soften the modern architecture.
  • Soft finishes like woven throws, textured cushions, and small decor objects were chosen to feel at once relaxed and intentional — creating a lounge where guests could pause without feeling out of place.

Storytelling Beyond the Surface

We layered in brand communication touchpoints that extended beyond aesthetics. Brew33 is about discovering the craft in everyday things — and that guided our content approach:

  • We created mini travel stories on where visitors could find Tokyo’s best craft beer and specialty coffee spots — drawing subtle parallels with Brew33’s own offerings.
  • We shared snippets about the heritage of craft brewing in Japan, linking local culture to the Brew33 experience.
  • Every element, from the reading materials to the table accessories, subtly echoed Brew33’s tone — warm, sociable, and quietly curious.

A Space That Feels Lived-In Yet Thoughtful

The result was a lobby and café space that felt less like a hotel extension and more like a place you might linger in on a quiet afternoon — to sip a beer, read something interesting, or chat with a friend.

Nothing was over-designed. Everything served a purpose: to make people feel comfortable enough to connect, and inspired enough to stay a little longer.

Casual Day Dining Restaurant Space Branding

For its casual dining concept, SAUS, we translated the brand’s graphic language into spatial expressions inspired by food elements, interpreted through a distinctly Japanese minimalist lens.

While restrained in form, the design remains true to SAUS’ vibrant personality and brings to life the story of its two sisters, Amber and River, through subtle yet intentional detailing.
