A Flagship for Motherhood and Recovery in Holland Village

Located in a conserved 1930s shophouse, the new Madam Partum flagship in Holland Village continues our long partnership with the brand. Since 2021, this has been our fourth project together, each one deepening how the brand’s story of maternal wellness is expressed through design.

A Brand Rooted in Wellness and Care

Madam Partum is Singapore’s leading TCM-based wellness brand for pre- and post-partum mothers. Their approach extends beyond treatment into lifestyle, including hair care, home products, and herbal beverages. For this outlet in the west, the goal was to bring their holistic philosophy closer to their clientele while reflecting their position as a market leader.

A Flagship Expression of Commercial Interior Design

In Holland Village, a neighbourhood known for its calm sophistication, the store needed to embody both warmth and stature. The brief called for a space that would represent the brand’s evolution in both design and experience.

Our commercial interior design approach focused on storytelling and spatial flow. The shophouse format came with natural constraints, but also a chance to create rhythm and intimacy through the journey. Every area was considered as part of a larger brand experience, from the moment of arrival to the quiet of the treatment rooms.

Translating Identity into Space

We worked closely with the client to reinterpret Madam Partum’s pink palette into something softer, more lasting, and more mature. The signature tone remains familiar but now sits within a spectrum of blush, cream, and warm neutrals. Brass detailing and layered lighting add gentle refinement without losing accessibility.

The plum blossom, a key symbol in Madam Partum’s logo, reappears subtly as a ceiling detail at the reception, serving as a quiet cue of brand continuity. The goal was to express identity not through overt branding, but through presence and feeling.

Facade and Arrival

The shophouse facade retains its heritage character and now wears Madam Partum’s refreshed tone of pink. A curved awning introduces a sense of hospitality that feels both boutique and grounded. The entrance sets the rhythm of the experience—graceful, calm, and confident.

Reception and Lounge

The reception was designed more like a lounge than a waiting area. A bar counter anchors the space while soft seating, gentle light, and tactile finishes invite rest. Rounded detailing, warm neutrals, and reflective accents carry the same maternal softness that defines the brand. This is where brand experience meets spatial comfort.

Consultation and Treatment Rooms

On the first floor, consultation and treatment rooms are designed around accessibility and ease of movement for pregnant and post-partum clients. A pair of consultation rooms allow physicians to rotate efficiently, while treatment spaces are kept open and calm, with natural materials and soft lighting.

Upstairs, spa areas are darker and more enveloping, creating a restorative rhythm in contrast to the bright reception below. Every circulation path and transition is intentional, encouraging slower movement and quiet recovery.

A Calming Presence in Holland Village

The project also responds to its context. Two rooms open towards a mature tree outside, bringing a small but grounding connection to nature. The surrounding cafes and day spots of Holland Village influenced the relaxed tone of the interiors.

Beyond a Storefront

More than a clinic or retail space, this flagship represents Madam Partum’s next chapter as a leader in maternal wellness. It expresses how a brand can evolve through interior design—remaining human, considered, and emotionally resonant.

The space feels like an extension of the brand’s care philosophy: nurturing, composed, and quietly confident.
