The Sea

Bayshore | 1000 sqft

This is a serene and minimalist home with stunning views of the east coast sea from the master bedroom.

The colour scheme is inspired by the blue and green hues of nature, with three shades of green coupled with a neutral base.

With the owner’s love for hosting in mind, the dining area was positioned near the living area to facilitate conversations.

The master bathroom was inspired by Japanese bathhouses and features a sitting ledge and blue handmade subway tiles.

This is a home that exudes a serene and minimalist vibe, with breathtaking views of the east coast sea from the master bedroom.

The owner’s love for clean contemporary lines, which she developed during her studies in Japan and Sweden, is evident in the home’s design.

The colour scheme was inspired by the blue and green hues of nature, with three shades of green – Benjamin Moore’s Healing Aloe, Quiet Moments, and Hollingsworth Green – coupled with White Dove as the neutral base for the living and study areas. For the bedroom, we chose Wales Grey, which is a light bluish-gray, to create a relaxing environment.

Pendant lights from Gubi, purchased from our go-to designer furniture e-store, Finnish Design Shop, add a stylish touch to the dining area.

We also created a dry pantry opposite the dining area to increase storage space in the small kitchen and serve as a beverage corner for guests.

The master bathroom is one of our favourite features, inspired by Japanese bathhouses where people shower while sitting. We built a ledge for sitting and chose blue handmade subway tiles, Fez Warm Gloss, to add a delicate touch.

The master bedroom is kept simple with a leather armchair for relaxation and reading.

The wooden wall panel we designed adds a touch of detail to the space, while the functional solid wood wardrobes were given a new coat of paint to match the overall design.

We replaced the wooden door with a glass one to allow light to come through from the study room’s windows. The study room has also transformed into a cozy den for the owner’s cat, who was adopted after the renovation was complete.

The design was carefully considered to create a functional and beautiful space that the owner can enjoy for years to come.
